What to do in SNNF

Northern Ontario Sport Fishing Centre

Start your day off at the Northern Ontario Sport Fishing Centre to learn about the fishing industry in our community. Make sure to pick up a trail map and trail activity passport (for the kids). If you are staying in Nestor Falls, this information is available at the NF info Centre.

Hiking & Biking on the Red Pine Trail Network

The Red Pine trail in Nestor Falls has both hiking and biking options available and is a great way to spend a morning. The hiking trails offer both easier and challenging hikes through an unbelievable red pine forest.

Nestled in the heart of the Lake of the Woods region, the Red Pine Trails Bike Park offers an exceptional mountain biking experience within the rugged Canadian Shield. Surrounded by towering pine forests, this premier facility features over 10 kilometers of meticulously designed trails that cater to riders of all levels. The park includes a new trailhead with ample parking, a dedicated skills park, thrilling downhill flow trails, technical routes, and a variety of jump lines, including the 600-meter Quarry Jump Line. Expanding on the existing Red Pine Trail network, the bike park has become a top-tier destination for cyclists seeking to immerse themselves in the region’s stunning, remote beauty. Whether you’re a beginner or an expert, the Red Pine Trails Bike Park is the perfect place to challenge your skills and explore the wilderness.

The Falls

After hiking and biking, be sure to stop at the waterfall in Nestor Falls. This site offers a beautiful view of Lake of the Woods and some great historical information about the area, which was written in collaboration with Onigaming First Nation.

Lunch

Sioux Narrows-Nestor Falls has two amazing Food Trucks. In Nestor Falls is the Bush Pilot and in Sioux Narrows is the Trailer.

Shopping

After Lunch, be sure to check out some of the great shopping. In Nestor Falls, both Helliars Resort and Bite Me Bait and Tackle offer unique and fun souvenirs. In Sioux Narrows, a visit to the Northern Lights, Gills Trading Post and the Narrows Gift Shops are a must.

Lazy Loon

When you’re done shopping, wind down the afternoon with ice cream and mini-golf at the Lazy Loon.

Dinner

Downtown Sioux Narrows. There are many great restaurants to choose from. After dinner walk down to the Sioux Narrows Bridge and Bridge Park for Great Views and more historical information about the region.
